Construction is due to start on Morris Property Group’s Koko development at Broadbeach this month.

CONSTRUCTION of Broadbeach’s newest residential apartment building will kick off this month.

Koko Broadbeach, which is being developed by Morris Property Group, will tower 31 storeys above its beachside site at 12-14 Elizabeth Ave.

Knight Frank head of project marketing Chris Litfin said demolishing the site’s existing building was the first step.

“Demolition is about to take place,” he said.

“It’s a pop up display in the building next door,” he said.

“We just need a location that’s near the site where people can pop in.

“But the bulldozer is the best display you can have.”

So far, Mr Litfin said 35 of the development’s 99 luxury apartments had sold.

“They’ve been going at basically one a week since the development (was launched),” he said.

He said the steady flow of sales gave the developer confidence to push forward with construction.

The development will include 94 two-bedroom apartments and five three-bedroom half-floor sub-penthouses.

Prices start from $629,900.

It will also have a range of residential facilities, including pool areas, including one for lap swimming, lounges, gym facilities, private outdoor entertainment areas and gardens.

It will be a short walk to Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and Star Casino and is only 250m from the beach.

The building is expected to be finished by late 2020.
