Welcome to One City Hill.

The first edition of residences in The Barracks precinct, One City Hill is designed to echo the geometry of nearby Lake Burley Griffin, with a mix of precise angles and soft curves uniting the natural and man-made worlds.

The design will maximise privacy, while allowing expansive, never-to-be-built-out views of the City Hill parkland and beyond.

With its significant frontage to Vernon Circle and southern approach to the city, One City Hill is destined to become a Canberra landmark.

Facing the interior courtyard, the architecture takes on a gentler and more fluid form, inspired by Lake Burley Griffin and the surrounding mountains.

One City Hill residences are designed for all generations, from singles to downsizers, from working couples to families. The retail component of The Barracks will fill a long- felt need by the residents of the city’s west and Acton, while a supermarket, cafés and restaurants are all envisaged in later stages to ensure the precinct is alive and buzzing, day and night.

“This site is an integral part of the ‘Civilian Apex’ of Walter Burley Griffin’s Parliamentary Triangle and therefore of exceptional significance. We have designed One City Hill to be a defining architectural element of this urban plan, addressing City Hill and orientated towards the lakeside landscape beyond.

It is a real privilege to work on such an important site within Griffin’s great city plan.”
